Pathways for   Achievement

Training with Mentorship

A Lot of our programs will primarily focus on children between the ages of 11-17 years of age and the overall success includes the use of pool time, at-home computer time & in person class time.
We utilize Diversity, Inclusion & Equity amongst all of our American
Red Cross programs and include director mentorship to all of the youth who participate in any of our programs to help expand on our overall mission.
Sit & Swim’s goal is to ultimately help reduce the overall drowning rate and offer many minority youth the ability and opportunity to help us succeed.

Certificates

All of our programs are focused on our participants learning life-saving skills and most require participants to successfully complete skill sets required for the particular program and pass a written or oral exam with an 80% passing grade. Our programs are taught by a Licensed Provider with American Red Cross Trainor who will additionally mentor any youth in our Sit & Swim programs and all of our participants will be guided & mentored to obtain the skills to thereafter use towards an apprentice program such as an: EMT, Childcare Worker or Recreation Worker.

Online & In Person Programs

Online & In-Person TrainingRequirements for each program differ. Our Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, CPR/FA/AED and Babysitter training have online requirements that must be completed before attending our in-person training.
Our Wilderness program requires participants to be certified in CPR/FA/AED before attending our outdoor/in-person sessions.  Our Swim lesson programs are available to anyone 6months - 99yrs and involves either: learn-to-swim lessons by American Red Cross, AngelFish teaching for participants with disabilities, junior lifeguard & lifeguard training-swim lessons by American Red Cross.
